Wellness Challenges
As the mission states, we are working every day to improve the health and well-being of our community. We know that doing that is difficult, so we’ve developed fun, interactive wellness challenges to you make those important lifestyle changes. Throughout the year we will encourage you to join us and every challenge offers:
• A set number of weeks to push yourself to form new, healthy habits
• Exciting and valuable prizes like gift cards, fitness equipment, or passes to health clubs
• An online system for tracking your progress or that of your team, when applicable
• A wealth of education to teach you WHY you should form new habits and HOW to do so
Our Challenges
Rock the Walk
This is an individual step challenge, created to promote getting the recommended 10,000 steps per day or an equivalent amount of physical activity. Typically, Rock the Walk is a six-week challenge with weekly prizes. Each week, step goals and prize values increase to keep players motivated and engaged. For those who prefer activities other than walking, conversion charts will help calculate the equivalent number of steps for whatever form of exercise completed.
Slimdown
For this challenge, teams of four-to-six players work together to drop 10% of their weight in 12 weeks. Prizes are offered for individual and team weight loss, with chances to win cash prizes. Participants are required to attend official weigh-in and weigh-outs to be eligible for major prizes. Each week, randomly selected participants each win a Visa gift cards simply for logging their weekly weight and completing an education quiz about weight loss and management.
Weight Maintenance
A new challenge for us, details are still being worked out, but this will be an ideal challenge for those who complete the Slimdown and want to maintain their progress, as well as those who are already at a healthy weight and want to stay that way.
Challenges will be offered 3-4 times per year, so stay tuned for details.
