Fort HealthCare Mammogram: Free Screening
Free Mammograms for Women with Little/No Insurance
The Wisconsin Well Woman Program (WWWP) provides preventive health screening services to women with little or no health insurance coverage. Women aged 35 – 64 who meet income requirements, can be enrolled in WWWP for breast and cervical screenings. They must meet the income guideline of 250% of Federal Poverty Level and be uninsured or under-insured, meaning a high deductible or poor coverage.
If you are under age 50 and do not present with a breast symptom or family history of breast cancer, the mammogram cannot be covered under the WWWP. For women in this category, age 40 – 49, “Fort Memorial Foundation” vouchers are available to use for a free mammogram. Should you have an “abnormal” screening mammogram under the Foundation voucher, you will be eligible for WWWP mammogram vouchers for a diagnostic mammogram or breast ultrasound or biopsy, if needed.
For more information on WWWP or Fort Memorial Foundation vouchers, please contact the Sandee Schunk at the Jefferson County Health Department at (920) 674-7193.
