Involved in Grassroots Community Wellness
Working with Others for Community Benefit:
Every year, especially in the few months that are summer, Fort HealthCare readily contributes to a variety of local non-profit organizations as they raise funds to benefit others. Using strict guidelines for charitable giving, the majority of recipients are locally based groups dedicated to health and wellness related causes. While the largest sponsorships go to United Way and to Tomorrow’s Hope, many smaller grassroots organizations benefit as well. These include local high school athletic booster clubs seeking monies to buy new equipment and to agencies dedicated to eliminating physical and mental abuse, addressing bicycle safety, improving literacy and caring for the terminally ill. In addition to donations and sponsorships totaling more than $60,000 per year, Fort HealthCare donates countless “tchatkes” and more substantial items either to hand out to event participants or to raise funds via silent auctions.
We believe that our continuing support for these local health and wellness organizations helps to spread the seeds of compassion, concern and generosity- traits that seem to be well-rooted in Fort HealthCare’s regional communities.
