CERTIFIED HAND THERAPISTS
The healing process makes hand and upper extremity surgery different from most other types of surgery. When the intricate parts of the hand, wrist or arm are repaired during surgery, scar tissue forms as part of the healing process. Minimizing the effects of surgical scarring, swelling, and maximizing the repaired area’s flexibility and strength are keys to having the best possible outcome. The sooner a hand therapist can treat you, the better your results.
Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) are knowledgeable about surgical procedures and treatment goals for the hands and wrists, and can tailor their rehabilitation therapy to improve your well-being. The complexity of the structures of the hands and wrists requires advanced knowledge and skill for rehabilitating those joints.
At the Fort HealthCare Center for Hand Care, we have four CHTs on-site to provide you with the best care possible and can offer the same treatment at our other rehabilitation and therapy locations so you can be cared for at a location closest to your home.
