Fort HealthCare Participates in Lake Mills Fitness DayTuesday, September 3, 2013
JEFFERSON COUNTY – Fort HealthCare will participate in the Lake Mills family fitness day on Sunday, September 8 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The free event will be held in Commons Park and will highlight various businesses, vendors and organizations that help promote the health and wellness of the community.
Fort HealthCare will have its’ Railyard equipment set up for all to try. The Railyard system is portable exercise equipment in which participants of any age can climb, jump, hang, balance and challenge their fitness abilities. In addition, Fort HealthCare will provide free blood pressure screenings and a meet-and-greet with Dr. Jennifer Philbin, a Family Practice Physician at the Fort HealthCare Lake Mills Clinic.
Other fitness day activities will include demonstrations by the Lake Mills Yoga Co-Op, Dancing Lotus Fitness, Lake Mills Jazzercise and Step Up Youth Fitness program. The Lake Mills Recreation Department will have activities for kids and Water House Foods will provide taste testing.
Additional agencies including; Culligan Water Conditioning, 2 Rivers Bicycle, MK Cellular, Optimal Physical Therapy, Snap Fitness, Johnson Creek Chiropractic, Greenwoods State Bank, TLC Body Work, Gluten-Free-For-All, the Jefferson County Health Department, Summit Credit Union, Rock Lake Activity Center, 9-Rounds Fitness, UW Health Partners and the Humane Society of Jefferson County will be on-hand to provide activities, giveaways, information, and prize drawings throughout the day.
Fitness Day is hosted by the Lake Mills Wellness Coalition (LMWC), a group working to increase healthy food options and increase activity levels in Lake Mills and to educate Lake Mills residents about the dangers of obesity.
