Fort HealthCare begins door-to-door health needs survey
Wednesday, June 5, 2013 - Each year, Fort HealthCare authorizes a comprehensive survey to assess the general public’s individual healthcare status and health-related behaviors. Survey results guide the organization in identifying the need for new and improved services, addressing individual health conditions more effectively and in assessing the overall health of the communities it serves. This year’s survey will again be a door-to-door canvass and occur throughout the Fort HealthCare service area including Jefferson County, Cambridge and Whitewater. Fort HealthCare and other community agencies team up for Camp 911
Wednesday, May 22, 2013 - Fort HealthCare is holding the third annual Camp 911, a one-day program focusing on safety, prevention techniques and health and wellness for children entering fourth through sixth grades in the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. Camp 911 will be held Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday, August 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital. The registration fee is $15 per child. GERI Manikin donation made to Fort HealthCare Simulation Lab
Thursday, February 21, 2013 - Following a February 5 Chamber of Commerce open house, the Fort HealthCare Simulation Lab accepted the generous donation of a GERI manikin. This new manikin joins two others already housed in the Simulation Lab, but provides a more realistic opportunity for nurses and other healthcare professionals to practice over 30 various skills, including tracheostomy and catheter insertion on elderly patients. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program launches, partnership between Fort HealthCare and PADA
Thursday, February 14, 2013 - The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program at Fort HealthCare began providing confidential services to sexual assault victims on Friday, February 8. Prior to that date, Jefferson County had no facility offering these services. Victims were referred to other hospitals, in more urban communities. SANE is provided in partnership with People Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse (PADA), Jefferson County’s program for domestic and sexual abuse victims. More...

Fort HealthCare Slimdown Challenge weigh-in begins February 4
Monday, January 28, 2013 - It’s been reported that nineteen percent of all New Year’s resolutions made are related to losing weight. If you are one of those nineteen percent or, if perhaps you’ve come to the conclusion that you need to lose weight after the time for resolutions had passed, then Fort HealthCare encourages you to join this year’s version of the successful Slimdown Challenge. The Fort HealthCare 2013 Slimdown Challenge, offered free of charge to all participants, begins on February 18 and continues for twelve weeks until May 13. Teams of four to six persons can join through a participating employer or through a community-based organization such as the Rock Lake Activity Center (Lake Mills), Working for Whitewater’s Wellness (W3), Slimdown Fort Atkinson and the Cambridge Activities Program (CAP).
