Frosty Rock Challenge Proceeds to Tomorrow’s Hope

Monday, February 10, 2014 - The inaugural Fort HealthCare Frosty Rock Challenge, held on Saturday, November 16 was a great success, in part due to the more than 250 individuals who participated in the 5K run/walk or ran in the 12K mixed road and trail event that included Dorothy Carnes Park in Fort Atkinson. Fort Memorial PET/CT scan services helps detect disease at earlier stages

Tuesday, September 17, 2013 - Beginning Friday, September 27th patients living in the Fort Atkinson area will no longer be required to travel out of the area to have an exam that helps doctors detect disease in its early stages and monitor the progress of patients’ treatment. The scanner, developed by GE Healthcare, combines two kinds of imaging to give doctors complete information about the patient’s condition in a single exam that usually takes less than one hour. Friday, July 12, 2013 - Fort HealthCare has been named to the prestigious Most Improved list in Hospitals & Health Networks magazine's Most Wired Survey, in recognition of the accomplishments the healthcare provider has made towards implementing a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) system. The survey, conducted between January 15 and March 15, asked hospitals and health systems nationwide to answer questions regarding their information technology (IT) initiatives. Respondents completed 659 surveys, representing 1,713 hospitals, or roughly 30 percent of all U.S. hospitals. The number of hospitals and health systems designated as Most Wired increased to 289. The support group is a unique opportunity to get questions answered, learn techniques, share experiences and network with mothers dealing with similar challenges and successes. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 - The newly remodeled Fort HealthCare Jefferson clinic opened in August at its permanent location, 840 West Racine Street in Jefferson. The new clinic is a modern space capable of supporting up to three full time providers practicing at the same time and has a procedure room, new imaging equipment and a small lab area on-site for extra convenience. Fort HealthCare offers CPR Training for Jefferson County Inmates

Monday, June 18, 2012 - On June 8th, Fort HealthCare teamed up with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department to offer jail inmates a chance to participate in a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course. CPR is a combination of chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth assisted breathing used to restore oxygen in a person who has stopped breathing. State concussion law improves safety for area youth athletes

Friday, June 1, 2012 - State Law Act 172, referred to as the Sideline to Safety Law, was designed to ensure proper care to youth athletes and will influence how coaches and parents treat concussions that occur in school athletics and recreational leagues. High school athletes today are four-times more likely to sustain a concussion than a decade ago. Fort HealthCare's Therapy & Sport Center is the only credentialed ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) provider in the area. ImPACT is a computerized neurocognitive assessment tool used to determine an athlete's readiness to return to play after a concussion. Friday, February 10, 2012 - Leadership at Fort HealthCare recognizes the critical role the Rock River Free Clinic plays in ensuring the health of our most vulnerable residents. Since 2003, the clinic has operated on a limited basis with volunteer clinicians and support staff. Consequently, many of these economically disadvantaged persons requiring urgent medical care sought services they likely could not afford at Fort Memorial Hospital's emergency department or urgent care clinics. Thursday, February 9, 2012 - Fort HealthCare was recently recognized for its implementation of a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) system by HIMSS Analytics, a wholly owned not-for-profit subsidiary of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Fort HealthCare and Advanced Pain Management Partner for Increased Local Care

Monday, February 6, 2012 - Fort HealthCare and Advanced Pain Management, a regional provider of medical services for pain management, recently announced a formal partnership agreement that will expand the level of services available in the Fort Atkinson area. The agreement calls for a joint venture relationship between the two partners. Advanced Pain Management will relocate current services from the Specialty Clinic at Fort Memorial Hospital to a new location at 1604 Madison Avenue, Fort Atkinson. Monday, January 9, 2012 - Representatives of Fort HealthCare gathered around a very large check to celebrate the recently completed goal topping United Way campaign. The campaign ran for a number of weeks this fall, and resulted in the donation of $39,132 to United Way of Jefferson and North Walworth Counties. During a recent Volunteer Awards Banquet at Koshkonong Mounds Country Club, volunteers were recognized for their tireless efforts. Cambridge Community Foundation Awards Grant to Fort HealthCare

Monday, May 9, 2011 - In April, the Cambridge Community Foundation awarded a $2,400 grant to the Fort HealthCare Cambridge Clinic to upgrade the equipment used for taking care of broken bones. The new equipment makes the delivery of care more comfortable for patients. The equipment that the clinic uses to cut casts off has been replaced with a newer model, which features a vacuum attachment, so that cast dust is contained when the equipment is used, and not permitted to float around in the air. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 - Beginning Tuesday, August 24 some adult patients admitted to the intensive care unit and the medical/surgical/pediatric unit at Fort Memorial Hospital will receive medical care from physicians with specific training in the care of hospitalized persons. The physicians responsible for admitting these patients are called hospitalists and they work closely with the patient's primary care physician throughout the inpatient stay. Because of the intensive training these physicians have received in caring for very medically ill patients, the effectiveness and efficiency of care provided is expected to be enhanced.
