Community Spotlight - Fort Farmer's Market
The mission of Fort Farmers Market is to celebrate local foods and arts while nurturing neighbor-to-producer relationships, cultivating healthy communities, and integrating sustainable practices into our everyday lives. We strive to create an environment that will support our vendors' financial health by keeping vendor fees low through finding sponsorships, efficiently utilizing our resources, and repurposing what we already have in planning our many market programs. This year we are continuing to strive to support our vendors and the community’s physical health by asking everyone to wear masks in the market space until the CDC no longer recommends that people mask-up in public spaces. Follow them on Facebook!

NEW - Wisconsin Local Foods Database!
For the past several years, the AmeriCorps Farm to School team has been developing a statewide resource to help connect Wisconsin farmers to school nutrition directors. This project was started by a passionate AmeriCorps member, Megan Wise, who wanted to help facilitate sustained relationships between farms and schools. Since then the Wisconsin Local Foods Database has grown into a website that we are now able to share across the state.
May 21 is Wisconsin School Garden Day!
This day brings recognition to the people and programs giving Wisconsin’s youth access to innovative, hands-on educational opportunities. You can participate in Wisconsin School Garden Day by engaging in some type of garden-based education activity or celebration on May 21, 2020 (or another day that week).
