Wellness Classes - Fitness Classes

Fort HealthCare Digital Class Series

Join Fort HealthCare fitness instructors from anywhere with this live digital class series offered during this time of unknown and social-distancing. These classes will be offered through the Zoom application platform, and in order to increase security with this platform, each participant will receive (per class, below) and will be admitted individually by the instructor.

July Zoom Digital Fitness Classes

Glutes & Abs: A fun and challenging way to tighten and tone everything in your core (abs and lower back) and ‘posterior’ region.

Get ‘N Fit Fitness Class: Varied weekly workouts with a certified athletic trainer that will include cardiovascular exercise and light strengthening. All fitness levels welcome!

Tabata Time: This fast-moving and fun class will get the heart rate up and will target your total body. Modifications offered and for all fitness levels.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga: A moderately paced class that promotes deep and even breathing through connection of breath to movement. Expect to move and sweat.

Body Blast: This total-body workout is for all fitness levels, and will incorporate both cardiovascular and strength training, with a different workout each week.

Strength & Flexibility: This  class uses body weight and/or your own weight source to strengthen your full body and increase your flexibility and range of motion.

Midday Move & Stretch: This easy-going low-impact movement and stretch class will get the blood flowing, muscles moving and rejuvenate you to tackle your afternoon.

Participants will have the option to register individually per class OR, have the option to register for all class options, at a discounted rate. All discount codes will be accepted for this series.

Fort HealthCare employees receive these classes for free, and can email wellness.advisor@forthc.com if they would like to register.


Summer Performance Training and ACL Injury Prevention

Fort HealthCare’s Edge Performance Training is offering a 6 week performance training and ACL injury prevention class to female Fort Atkinson High School athletes.  Classes will focus on strength training for improved overall athleticism and confidence with weight lifting. Training will include carefully selected exercises that have been scientifically proven to reduce the rate of ACL injuries in female athletes. The sessions will be provided by Fort HealthCare Physical Therapists and athletic training staff.  This class will take place Monday-Thursday from June 15th to July 23rd,  from 6am-7:30am  in the Fort Atkinson High School weight room.

Get N Fit Fitness Class

Get N Fit is targeted for adults who are ready to start an exercise program. You will work with a certified athletic trainer who will customize a fitness program to meet your needs. The initial session will include a pre-fitness testing assessment that includes body composition, balance, flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular endurance.

The weekly workouts will vary, but will include both cardiovascular exercise and light strengthening. All fitness levels are welcome to attend!

Yoga

Develop the fundamentals of connecting breath to yoga postures, learn techniques to release tension and improve strength and flexibility. Prior experience not required. This class is not suitable for individuals who have had a total hip replacement.

Yoga classes are offered three times, on different days and times, for your convenience.  Please choose the class you plan to attend most frequently.

Fitness Class Punch Pass

Fort HealthCare offers a 10-hour punch pass that is available to use on ALL fitness classes. The punch pass will have twenty-30 minute circles that can be used at your convenience.  By registering online, your name will go on a roster, and a punch pass will be issued to you following the approval of your credit card. Pick up can be arranged at the hospital, or through your class instructor.  Family and friends may use the same card.

Exclusions

  • NO discounts will be available for the punch pass.
  • The punch pass will expire after 6 months
  • There are NO replacements. If you lose the punch pass, you will not be issued a new one.
  • Certain classes will not be permitted to use punch pass. This list will be updated each session.

Absolute Arms

Join the class that only focuses on your arms. This strength only class will Increase your range of motion, tighten, and tone your arms in ways you can only imagine.

Ditch the workout – Join the Party! This fitness oriented six week party fuses cardio workouts with a Latin flavor in easy to follow dance routines with intervals of body toning.  The dance moves create a dynamic calorie burning workout.  Join the “Best Fitness Party” in town!  Don’t know what Zumba® is?  Check out www.zumba.com.

Healthy-Steps

Healthy-Steps, Moving You to Better Health with the Lebed Method, is a therapeutic exercise and movement program with wonderful music designed to help you thrive!  Offering wellness programs for surgery patients and cancer survivors, regardless of health, age or ability level.  The Healthy-Steps program improves overall wellness, range-of-motion, balance, strength and endurance, as well as emotional well-being and self-image.

1-hour sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 10:00 in the Hospital Rehab Department.

1-hour sessions are also held on Mondays starting at 12:45 and Thursdays starting at 11:30 in the Johnson Creek Community Center.

Through funding from Tomorrow’s Hope, Fort HealthCare is able to reduce the rate for this class to $20/person

Mild Motion

This class features exercise to maintain joint flexibility. Exercise is especially important to health for the people with arthritis. Those with fibromyalgia or anyone wanting gentle exercise will also benefit. The one-hour exercise session includes time for refreshments and socializing. A fee of $2 is collected at each session; first session is FREE. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:30 pm in Classroom D at the Fort Memorial Hospital.

**The last Thursday of every month will be in Cardiac Rehab**
