Take on the challenge as you amble your way through the oak savannah, past the marshes and wetlands, and over the prairie on this 12K mixed course. The race starts at Fort Atkinson High School, goes through Dorothy Carnes County Park and returns to the clinic. This is a hilly, challenging course with the trail portion on uneven grassy surface.
Want to run with a partner instead of tackling the 12k on your own? Then this will be for you. This will be a two person relay team, with 3 legs of the race. One person will only run the road portion, and the other person will only run the trail portion. The first person will run the 2 miles to Dorothy Carnes park, then exchange bibs just inside the park. The other person will run the trail portion (3.4 miles) of the race and come back to meet up with the initial runner. Then the exchange will occur again where the initial runner will run back to the start line. It is highly encourage to wear a bib belt for easy/quick exchange of number – as you will only have one number between the two of you. More details to come on specific waiting area in Dorothy Carnes. We will have a shuttle to take relay members back and forth from Dorothy Carnes.
A map with details of exchange location is to come….
Not sure what a bib belt is….. click here for example. Can pick one of these up at any running store.
