Physical Activity Challenge – Rock the Walk 2016

Individuals looking for a way to begin an exercise program or change up their current program are invited to join the Fort HealthCare Rock the Walk 2016 Activity Challenge. Rock the Walk is an eight-week challenge with weekly prizes, designed to increase the current level of physical activity for participants. Each week, physical activity goals in the form of minutes of activity are shared and prizes are awarded to keep players motivated and engaged.

Rock the Walk 2016 will begin Tuesday, September 27th and run through Tuesday, November 22nd. To stay in this challenge, participants must log at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week. This is the minimum amount recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Choose an activity you already enjoy – walking, biking, swimming, or even gardening – whatever activity you choose, as long as it gets your heart pumping. After logging the minimum number of weekly minutes of exercise, participants will be asked to read a brief article and take a simple quiz. That’s it!

Weekly and grand prizes will be awarded for complete participation. Prizes include $25 Visa gift cards, home gym equipment, gift certificates, a Fit Bit Surge, and an Apple Watch. You’re not going to want to miss this!

There is no cost to participate. Rock the Walk is Fort HealthCare’s free, eight-week, physical activity challenge that invites all community members and employees of local businesses to invest in their health and compete for great prizes.

While the activity is organized by Fort HealthCare’s Community Health and Wellness department, other organizations are participating. Support for participation also comes from the Jefferson County Healthy Community Coalitions. We are on a mission to be the healthiest community in Wisconsin! Participating in Fort HealthCare’s Rock the Walk 2016 is one of the many ways you can join us in this endeavor. Rock the Walk sign-up opens on Tuesday, September 8th for all players. Returning players will log in at FortHealthCare.MyCernerWellness.com and new players will visit FortHealthCare.com/RockTheWalk to fill out the pre-registration form.
