Have questions about whether or not Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery might be for you?
If you’re 100 pounds or more overweight, and haven’t had success losing weight with traditional diet or exercise, it may be helpful to know about our Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery that’s available using LAP-BAND®. We are hosting a FREE informational seminar about this very topic on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 6-7:30 p.m. at our hospital. Registration is required. Or, fill out a form on our website to receive more information, watch a video about the procedure, and learn more.
NEW sessions open for Movin' & Losin' for Families
We offer “Movin’ & Losin’ for Families” to families with children ages 5-16 who are in need of learning ways to eat healthier and start a fitness routine. The class is 8-10 weeks long with new topics being taught each week related to diet and goal setting, followed by exercise. Classes begin January 16th & 17th! Click Learn More for more information and to VIEW A VIDEO about the program.
OpenNotes® is here!
MyCompass, our online medical record, now provides our patients with access to OpenNotes® – the detailed notes written by your doctor during and after every visit. OpenNotes® is a national initiative working to give patients access to the visit notes written by their providers. Fort HealthCare patients who are enrolled in the MyCompass online patient portal will now be able to access OpenNotes® on their electronic medical records. Notes will be available on MyCompass immediately after the clinic note has been signed.

Indoor fitness activities to do with children
For parents, it can be tough to find indoor local activities for your child(ren) to burn off some energy during the deep freeze of winter, but it’s important to help motivate them to stay active and to aim for at least 60 minutes daily of physical activity. Winter in Wisconsin can be tough for the family to get the recommended daily amount of physical activity, especially when the temps dip below zero and safety becomes a concern with outdoor activities. Read more for our suggestions for some local indoor winter activities.
