JUNE 2017 • VOLUME 10, ISSUE 6
Walk with us and talk with one of our providers!
Join us for the inaugural Walk With A Doc event coming up on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Bret Hunt, MD with Fort HealthCare Emergency Physicians will be giving a short introductory talk, and then will walk together with a group. This is a chance to get outside, move your body, and interact with doctors and other healthcare providers in a non-clinical setting. Everyone is welcome to join in, no matter your fitness level. You can walk as little or as much as you'd like or are comfortable doing. Even if you haven't exercised in years, or have never exercised, this is a great opportunity to hang out with a friendly group of folks and start walking.
Is it seasonal allergies, or something else?
William Hofmann, MD, otolaryngologist with Fort HealthCare Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists, is hosting a free community seminar about the topic of nasal congestion on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 beginning at 4 p.m. The event will be held in the Community Room at Dwight Foster Public Library, located at 209 Merchants Avenue in Fort Atkinson. Issues with nasal congestion can affect all ages, and Dr. Hofmann will be available to answer questions after the presentation.
Summertime and warmer weather brings out exposed skin.
Dr. Martin Okun, board certified dermatologist with Fort HealthCare Dermatology, will be offering a free skin cancer screening for anyone on June 6th from 5-7:00 pm at the Hospital Dermatology Clinic at 611 Sherman Ave. East, Third Floor, Fort Atkinson. Registration is not required; guests will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Stroke awareness and heart health.
We quite often hear that we should all be making our heart health a priority. I don’t think anyone would object to this notion, as keeping our hearts beating is what keeps us alive. But what exactly is heart health, and how does it relate to stroke prevention?
