Why Hearing Screenings are Important for Children
Although hearing loss is common in older adults, it can occur at any age—even in babies and children. When children have undiagnosed hearing loss, it can affect their ability to learn to speak, understand language, thrive in a classroom, and interact with others.
Walk With a Doc May 12th
Join us for another Walk With A Doc event coming up on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Julia Dewey, MD with Fort HealthCare Internal Medicine and Pediatrics will be giving a short introductory talk, and then will walk together with a group. This is a chance to get outside, move your body, and interact with doctors and other healthcare providers in a non-clinical setting. Everyone is welcome to join in, no matter your fitness level. You can walk as little or as much as you'd like or are comfortable doing. Even if you haven't exercised in years, or have never exercised, this is a great opportunity to hang out with a friendly group of folks and start walking.
Spring Fitness and Nutrition
Winter is tough in Wisconsin between the cold, snow and dark and it’s easy to get into a funk that is hard to break away from. It’s harder to exercise, and we tend to gravitate to the ‘comfort’ food items that are so delicious, but maybe on the ‘not so healthy’ side of the spectrum. With summer fast-approaching, now is the time to break out of the winter rut and get back on track.
