Walk With a Doc This Saturday
Join us for another Walk With A Doc event coming up on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Marc Erickson, MD with Fort HealthCare Surgical Associates and will be giving a short introductory talk, and then will walk together with a group. This is a chance to get outside, move your body, and interact with doctors and other healthcare providers in a non-clinical setting. Everyone is welcome to join in, no matter your fitness level. You can walk as little or as much as you'd like or are comfortable doing. Even if you haven't exercised in years, or have never exercised, this is a great opportunity to hang out with a friendly group of folks and start walking.
Mammograms for early detection
Mammograms are an important breast cancer screening tool for women and among the best early detection methods. The National Breast Cancer Foundation estimates that one in eight women either currently has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. If detected early, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer exceeds 96 percent, and the latest in 3D-mammogram imaging technology helps detect breast cancer up to 15 months earlier. We also have programs in place to ensure that any woman, regardless of insurance coverage, has the opportunity to get screened.
