Mammograms for early detection
Mammograms are an important breast cancer screening tool for women and among the best early detection methods. The National Breast Cancer Foundation estimates that one in eight women either currently has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. If detected early, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer exceeds 96 percent, and the latest in 3D-mammogram imaging technology helps detect breast cancer up to 15 months earlier. We also have programs in place to ensure that any woman, regardless of insurance coverage, has the opportunity to get screened.

We are excited to announce our partnership with the School Nursing Program in the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District! The agreement includes a school nurse from Fort HealthCare that will work with students in the district. This partnership meets the needs of both organizations’ missions. Palmyra-Eagle Area School District represents the ninth area district we have partnered with for school nursing services and the third district with both school nursing and athletic training services.
Choose physical therapy for pain management
In general, as a society, we are accustomed to seeking a quick fix for pain relief, and that often comes in the form of a pill. Taking a pain reliever to ease your discomfort during the healing process is fine. Things can get dangerous when your pain becomes a chronic condition and you find yourself seeking medicated relief more often, or even constantly. This cycle of pain and remedy may become habit forming, expensive, and depending upon the strength of the medication taken – addiction can result. Physical therapy could be a solution for pain relief.
