Arthur and Nancy Nesbitt continue their generous support for Fort HealthCare nurses who are completing their BSN. Scholarships for Nancy Callahan, Lindsay Hahn, Linda Polensky and Brittany Romans were announced in August. A reception for these nurses and the Nesbitt’s was held in the Simulation Lab on September 1.
The impact of these scholarships is reflected by the recipients:
“This scholarship means to me that I am a valued nurse here at FHC. The Nesbitt’s are such an integral part of this community and I foresee it being that way for years to come! I am so grateful and excited to be receiving this scholarship. Thanks.” – Lindsay Hahn, RN
“I recently found out that I needed an additional four credits in order to graduate with my class. This scholarship will cover the class, and supplies. I was so very thankful that I was able to meet with Mr. and Mrs. Nesbitt to personally thank them for this generous gift. Thank you again.” – Nancy Callahan. RN
“I am very thankful for this generous scholarship as I enrich my knowledge and work towards my bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN). I feel privileged and honored to be my patient’s advocate during their most vulnerable time when they come to the operating room for a procedure. By advancing my nursing education I will be able to ensure that my patients receive the best care possible and prepare me for future professional roles. As William Shakespeare said, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away”. Being a nurse is my gift, helping my patients is my purpose, and giving my gift away is my delight.” – Linda Polensky, RN CNOR
