Mandatory Flu Vaccines

This year, the timeframe to receive your flu vaccine or provide documentation that you received your vaccine elsewhere is October 1-31, 2016. NOTE: This is a shorter timeframe than last year. The seasonal flu vaccine for employees will be administered at Safety Days (October 11 & 14). PLEASE READ ON FOR MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS TOPIC.
We're a Baby Friendly Hospital!
The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative is a global program that was launched by the World Health Organization and UNICEF in 1991 to encourage and recognize hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother-and-baby bonding. We are the 369th hospital in the United States to achieve this, and the 10th hospital in Wisconsin.

Nesbitt Scholarship Winners Announced
Dwight Heaney, Executive Director, Foundation
Arthur and Nancy Nesbitt continue their generous support for Fort HealthCare nurses who are completing their BSN. Scholarships for Nancy Callahan, Lindsay Hahn, Linda Polensky and Brittany Romans were announced in August. A reception for these nurses and the Nesbitt’s was held in the Simulation Lab on September 1.

RESPECT Awards - September 2016
Thank you for all the great work that you do! The RESPECT Award nominations are one way that we can honor our co-workers for a job well done.
Waldorf Salad
- 2 cups diced, unpeeled apples
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 cup creamy cheese spread*

Mix all ingredients together. Chill. Serve on salad greens.
(Yield = 6 servings; 135 calories/serving)

*Creamy Cheese Spread
- 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese
- 2 tbsp. nonfat dry milk

In a blender, mix the cottage cheese and milk powder until smooth. Chill to thicken before using.
(Yield = 1/2 cup)
