According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 34 million people in the United States have diabetes. 88 million adults have prediabetes.

That’s nearly a third of Americans who have diabetes or are at high risk for type 2 diabetes. Learning ways to prevent the onset of diabetes or learning how to best live with the condition is important.

Education and Support

Diabetes Forecast is a consumer magazine website for people living with diabetes or prediabetes. It is published bi-monthly in print and digital editions by the American Diabetes Association. All articles are reviewed by a dedicated group of health care professionals with clinical and/or research experience.

Virtual Diabetes Support Group & Classes

Our Virtual Diabetes Support Group and our Virtual Prediabetes Education Class are groups that meet on a monthly basis and are facilitated by a Fort HealthCare Diabetes Educator.

Attending either the class or the group is free of charge and is a positive environment for fostering relationships with others who have diabetes, know someone with diabetes, are curious about diabetes, or have been diagnosed with prediabetes. The goal of the meetings are to provide support, education and practical tips related to the prevention and management of diabetes.
