Considerable progress is being made regarding implementation of the Compass Electronic Health Record. As we work diligently towards that all important go-live date of August 1st, we will begin to more frequently communicate with our patients concerning the expected benefits this very powerful EHR will provide.

Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects nearly 10 percent of Wisconsin children and adolescents. One of the best strategies to reduce childhood obesity is to improve the diet and exercise habits of your entire family. Treating and preventing childhood obesity helps protect the health of your child now and in the future. Fort HealthCare, the School District of Fort Atkinson and Tomorrow's Hope have teamed up to offer a wellness challenge to any family with children in the Fort Atkinson school district, including parochial and home-schooled students. PLAN, which stands for play, leisure, activity and nutrition, is a free five-month program beginning in January.

ImPACT pre-concussion screenings to winter student-athletes

Fort HealthCare's team of certified athletic trainers (ATC) are offering pre-concussion screenings for student-athletes. The program, called ImPACT, provides a cognitive baseline so in the event of a concussion, clinicians have better information to guide them in making return-to-play decisions. ImPACT is the standard tool for many high schools, collegiate and professional sports organizations for concussion management.
