Fort HealthCare, in partnership with Tomorrow’s Hope and 2 Rivers Bicycle & Outdoor, are hosting a family-friendly bike ride and fun run/walk, “Bike with Mike.” The event is in honor of Mike Wallace, Fort HealthCare president & CEO who was recently informed his T-cell lymphoma has returned, but is not widespread.

Each year, the Fort HealthCare Partners select a project at Fort Memorial Hospital to support through the sale of Love Lights. Through proceeds raised during the 2012 campaign, Fort HealthCare Emergency Services will be able to provide equipment needed to support the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program. Currently, there is no formal program to treat sexual assault victims in Jefferson County, even though between May and August 2012, there were 44 reported cases in Jefferson County.

Jayden Heffner, son of Katelyn Heffner of Cambridge, arrived at 11:37 a.m. on Monday, January 2 at the Fort Memorial Hospital Great Expectations Birthing Center. He was delivered by Rebecca Reim, MD weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Jayden is the first baby born in Jefferson County in 2012.
