BloodCenter of Wisconsin is Experiencing a Serious Need for O Negative Blood:
Fort Memorial Hospital now accepting appointments for June 25 Blood Drive
Due to the recent heat wave, many donors have not been able to attend their local blood drives. The loss of these donors has a significant impact on maintaining the local blood supply and BloodCenter is experiencing a serious need for O Negative Blood.
Fort Memorial Hospital is now accepting appointments for the blood drive on Monday, June 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital. People with all blood types are encouraged to donate. However, next week alone, BloodCenter will need 534 units of O Negative blood for accident and trauma patients at our local hospitals and on emergency transport operations like Flight for Life. If you have O Negative blood, please make an extra effort to attend this drive. To make an appointment, contact the Fort Memorial Hospital laboratory at (920) 568-5261 or register online: www.bcw.edu/FortHealthCare. Appointments are recommended, however, walk-ins are welcome. All attempting donors will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of Jefferson County Fair tickets given away every hour.
Every donation is important as the BloodCenter of Wisconsin is the exclusive provider of blood and blood products to every hospital in southeastern Wisconsin. BloodCenter needs to see 800 donors each day in order to meet the needs of the hospitals in which they serve.
