Although we are still several months away from declaring the end of this year’s flu season, flu vaccine orders are due soon for the coming Fall. Many area companies have opted to provide their employees with the vaccine in order to preempt any outbreak in the workplace. This practice has served them well and has kept illness from the flu under control. Much of the illness and death caused by influenza can be prevented by the annual influenza vaccination.

Fort HealthCare Business Health offers two options for providing the vaccination to employees. The first option is to have the vaccines administered at the Business Health Clinic in Fort Atkinson. The second option is to offer the vaccine at the workplace (there is an additional on-site fee). The vaccine is usually given between mid-October and mid-November.

Orders for the flu vaccine are due to Fort HealthCare Business Health by March 5. Although the cost of the vaccine is determined at the time of availability, current estimates suggest the cost will be approximately $30 per dose. At the time of order, a $5 deposit per dose is required. Order forms are available on the website at www.FortHealthCare.com under the “For Employers” tab. Orders can also be placed by calling Susan Ott, Customer Services Representative, at 920-568-5018.
