Fort HealthCare Calendar wins international award

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

A coveted Platinum Award was granted to the Fort HealthCare 2013 Calendar: A Year of Wellness in this year’s MarCom Awards. MarCom is an international competition for creative achievement in marketing and communications. Winners range from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. There were more than 6,500 entries this year.

MarCom Awards is a creative competition for those involved in the writing and design of print, visual, audio and web materials and programs. It is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). AMCP administers recognition programs; provides judges; and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the marketing and public relations profession.

Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers from across the United States and the world. The 2013 wellness calendar was submitted for consideration by BlueSpire Strategic Marketing, the publication partner of the Fort HealthCare Marketing department.

Distributed free of charge to patients at all Fort HealthCare locations and to employees of many area large employers, the calendar offers a month to month guide for healthy living. The calendar is also distributed to every Fort HealthCare employee as a component of LiveWell, the organization’s comprehensive employee wellness program. By participating in this program, employees earn points to qualify for monetary incentives on a quarterly basis, provided they take advantage of the program’s wellness evaluations, preventive care, physical activities, educational offerings, and tools that offer individualized health recommendations.

The 2013 calendar addressed physical fitness, healthy eating, cancer prevention, bicycle safety, diabetes prevention and more. A medication card is also included in the calendar, helping individuals to track their prescriptions, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and history of preventive screenings such as colonoscopies, mammograms and prostate screenings.

A limited number of copies of the 2014: A Year of Wellness calendar are still available at no charge in the main lobby and at the Ambulatory Services reception desk of Fort Memorial Hospital.
