Fort HealthCare Hosting Free Concussion Management Seminar

Fort HealthCare’s Concussion Management Team with the Fort HealthCare Therapy & Sport Center are hosting a free seminar for the public titled Evidence-Based Practice for Concussion Management on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The presentation will take place at the Fort Memorial Hospital Auditorium, located at 611 Sherman Avenue East in Fort Atkinson. Julia Neppl, MPT, LAT is a physical therapist and Licensed Athletic Trainer at the Fort HealthCare Therapy & Sport Center. She states, “This event is for students, parents, coaches, athletic directors, school personnel, and all others involved with concussion prevention, treatment and management.”

She continues, “The seminar will feature members of our Concussion Management team – which includes primary care providers and athletic trainers. The program will share information about what a concussion is, our ImPACT™ (Immediate Post-Assessment and Cognitive Testing) program for providing baseline concussion screening for athletes who participate in contact sports, and what happens to a person following a concussion. This includes a discussion about prevention and treatment options.”
