Fort HealthCare now supports Health Records on iPhone, which brings together hospitals, clinics, and the existing Apple Health app to make it easy for patients to see their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose. Any Fort HealthCare patient with a MyCompass patient portal account can connect their electronic medical record to the Apple Health app.

Previously, patients’ medical records were held in multiple locations, requiring patients to log into each care provider’s website and piece together information manually. Apple worked with the healthcare community to take a consumer-friendly approach and created Health Records based on FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), a standard for transferring electronic medical records.

Patients can now have medical information from participating institutions organized into one view, covering allergies, conditions, immunizations, lab results, medications, procedures, and vitals, and will receive notifications when their data is updated.

Patients can access Health Records from within the Health app and can download their health records by selecting Fort HealthCare and authenticating with their patient portal username and password. Health Records data is encrypted and protected with the user’s iPhone passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID.

Fort HealthCare President and CEO, Mike Wallace, states, “Being able to provide the interactive tools that we offer to both clinicians and patients, as well as the integrity and quality of the health data that we are able to collect, help maximize our effectiveness in our mission to make our communities the healthiest in Wisconsin.”
