Wallace Named to Wisconsin Hospital Association Board

Mike Wallace, president and CEO of Fort HealthCare, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Hospital Association. Wallace has served on several WHA committees in the past. He currently is a member of the Association’s Medicaid Advisory Group. His term begins January 2011.

“Mike will be a valued voice on the WHA Board as it wrangles with important issues that ultimately will affect health care access, quality, and affordability in Wisconsin,” said WHA President Steve Brenton.

The Wisconsin Hospital Association represents 132 hospitals and health systems. It advocates on behalf of its members to enable them to continue to provide high quality, accessible health care services resulting in healthier Wisconsin communities. The WHA Board is charged with setting strategic direction and policy for the Association.

“I am very pleased and honored to have been elected to the WHA Board,” said Wallace. “WHA is critically important as a policy and lobbying entity, affecting much of the legislation that is enacted at the state level. I think it is essential that the healthcare needs and desires of the people in and around Jefferson and Northern Walworth Counties are represented at this level.”

“All of us at Fort HealthCare are working diligently to achieve our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community,” he continued. “Having some influence on the direction of the WHA Board related to the critical issues of access to healthcare, affordability of services and quality of medical care will help make that goal a reality.”
