Demonstrating its ongoing commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care for Jefferson County and the surrounding area, Fort Memorial Hospital is proud to announce it has earned a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for Excellence from the Chartis Center for Rural Health. The hospital received recognition in the Outcomes category. This annual award recognizes rural hospitals nationwide that rank in the top 25 percent for performance in Quality, Outcomes, and Patient Perspective.
The Performance Leadership Awards program is based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®. This is a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
“We are grateful that our dedication to providing exceptional care has been recognized by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, naming Fort Memorial Hospital among the top performers in the country,” said Michael Anderson, MD, President and CEO at Fort HealthCare. “Our employees exemplify our mission, vision, and values by delivering the highest quality of care possible and remain deeply committed to serving our patients and the greater community.”
“The areas of quality, outcomes, and patient perspective are cornerstones of healthcare delivery across rural America, and this year’s Performance Leadership Award recipients are establishing a standard of excellence for their rural peers to follow,” said Michael Topchik, Executive Director of the Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We are delighted to shine a spotlight on such strong performance and honor the achievement of these hospitals on National Rural Health Day.”
