Fort HealthCare to Offer Free Pre-Diabetes Discussion

Fort HealthCare will be providing a series of educational discussions related to health and wellness in the Whitewater, WI community for 2020, serving Jefferson County. Programming is free and open to the public. The next discussion, Pre-Diabetes: Join the Conversation! ,will take place on March 4th 1:15 pm at Fairhaven Senior Services (435 W Starin Rd) in Whitewater, WI. Speaker, Shawn Biwer, registered nurse and certified diabetes educator from Fort HealthCare, Inc., will explore prediabetes, the scope of this health challenge, how to determine if you have prediabetes, and ways to improve your chances of preventing or delaying the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. Free blood pressure screenings and blood glucose (sugar) testing will take place in conjunction with the presentation starting at 12:30 pm
This program is one of multiple educational discussions scheduled in Whitewater for 2020 at either Fairhaven Senior Services (435 W Starin Rd) or Seniors in the Park (Starin Park Building 504 W Starin Rd). Although geared for the aging population, these discussions are meant to provide education for preventative care and anyone is welcome to attend.
Overflow parking for Fairhaven Senior Services is available across the street at Starin Park (504 W Starin Rd). Guests should use the main entrance at Fairhaven and check in at the auditorium.
