FREE Joint Pain Seminars in June

JEFFERSON COUNTY – Beth Schmitz, RN, Joint Care Coordinator for the Fort HealthCare Center for Joint Replacement, is hosting a number of free seminars about joint health throughout the county during the month of June.


The material presented on each date will be the same; the dates and locations are varied for convenience of area residents. To register for one of the seminars, please call (920) 568-5318. The seminars are educational, and free for anyone to attend.

According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, musculoskeletal disorders and diseases are the leading cause of disability in the United States and account for more than one-half of all chronic conditions in people over 50 years of age. Beyond the statistics, the human toll in terms of the diminished quality of life is immeasurable for many people.

Musculoskeletal disorders and diseases affect the body’s muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments
and nerves. Most conditions develop over time and are caused by heredity and a number of factors affecting joint condition. You should speak with your doctor if you are experiencing discomfort, aches and pains, or more serious symptoms in any of your joints. 

The Fort HealthCare Center for Joint Replacement officially began in August 2010. As the Center for Joint Replacement Care Coordinator, Schmitz has been facilitating the joint replacement program since it began. The Center is a “Destination Center” program, which is a patient-centric care model designed to create a complete care delivery system beginning with community education, continuing through physician interactions and extending through streamlined pre- and post-operative treatment pathways.

The Fort HealthCare Center for Joint Replacement is a service of Fort HealthCare Orthopaedic Associates.
