Frosty Rock Challenge Benefits Jefferson County Cancer Coalition

Fort HealthCare invites the community to participate in the Frosty Rock Challenge on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Proceeds for this family-friendly fitness event benefit the Jefferson County Cancer Coalition (JCCC). Advance registration is recommended. Visit FortHealthCare.com/FrostyRock for details.

frosty-rock-challengeThe Frosty Rock Challenge is a 12K mixed running course that starts at the Fort HealthCare Therapy & Sport Center in Fort Atkinson and takes runners through Dorothy Carnes Park and back to the clinic. If the 12K route isn’t for you, there is also a 5K run-walk and a one-mile kids run. Maps for all routes can be found on the event website.

Race start times vary; the earliest event is the one-mile kids run starting at 9 a.m. and the last event is the awards ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m. The starting location is at the Fort HealthCare clinic suite at 1504 Madison Avenue in Fort Atkinson, Wis.

Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather. Participants will be treated to light refreshments and beverages. All kids run participants receive a finisher’s medal and all racers have the opportunity to win prizes. But most importantly, the event is helping a great cause.

The Jefferson County Cancer Coalition (JCCC) is a non-profit organization established in 2012 that provides financial assistance to people affected by cancer and their families that are having difficulty meeting everyday needs in Jefferson County, Wis. JCCC staff are all volunteers and 100 percent of the funding is kept local and 100 percent of the funding is used to support individuals with cancer. The Frosty Rock Challenge is presented by Fort HealthCare Orthopaedic Associates, Therapy & Sport, and Integrated Family Care clinics, and sponsored by several local businesses. The event also maintains a Facebook page which can be found at Facebook.com/FrostyRock5k12k.

Race packets will be available for pick-up at the Fort HealthCare Therapy & Sport Center (1504 Madison Avenue, Fort Atkinson) on Friday, November 11, 2016 from noon-6 p.m. and the morning of the race from 7:30 a.m. until race time. You will be asked to display a photo ID at pick-up.
