Jefferson 1/2 Mile ATV Club Donates Over $30,000 to Mammogram Voucher Program

For years, Fort HealthCare’s Mammogram Voucher program has been helping women between the ages of 40-49 who are uninsured or whose health insurance does not cover the cost of a mammogram. Recently, Fort HealthCare recognized Breast Cancer Awareness month by hosting multiple walk-in mammogram screening events. From the walk-in events alone, 21 vouchers were used by local women this year. Fort HealthCare Radiology Coordinator Kathie Roth states, “This would not have been possible without the ongoing support from the Jefferson ½ Mile ATV club.”
The Jefferson ½ Mile ATV club held their annual “Save the Racks” ATV and Poker Run Fundraiser to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October 8, 2022. The event helped raise over $30,000 this year, which was donated to the Fort HealthCare Mammogram Voucher Program. The Jefferson ½ mile ATV club has raised over $60,000 since the program began in 2018. Over the years, the event has grown from 11 to 118 riders who have come together to support the community and raise awareness for breast cancer.
Funds from the Jefferson ½ Mile ATV club “Save the Racks” event have helped countless women in the community receive a screening mammogram. Kathie states, “This year’s generous donation has the potential to offer 160 uninsured or underinsured women with a screening mammogram! The voucher program eliminates financial barriers to healthcare and allows women access to this critical component of their breast health. We are forever grateful for the support from this event.”
