Jefferson High Volleyball team raises funds for free mammograms

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

JHS 2015 PINK shirtsEvery year the Jefferson High School volleyball team dedicates a home game to the ‘Pink’ cause.  On Tuesday, September 29, the Jefferson High School volleyball program will kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their annual ‘PINK’ game. This event is the highlight of month-long efforts to raise money for the Fort HealthCare mammogram voucher program in which uninsured and underinsured women are able to obtain mammograms.

A good portion of the funds are raised through the sale of the PINK t-shirts. This year’s theme is “Supporting the Fighters – Admiring the Survivors – Honoring the Taken.” All are welcome to come to the game to cheer on the JHS varsity team as they take on Evansville. PINK merchandise will be available and all proceeds from concessions that evening will go to the Fort HealthCare mammogram voucher program.

Fort HealthCare will sell ‘Pink’ shirts in the Human Resources department at Fort Memorial Hospital as well.  The shirts are priced at $15 each.
