Every year the Jefferson High School volleyball team dedicates a home game to the ‘Pink’ cause. This year’s ‘PINK’ game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, with Varsity play starting at 6:30 PM. Every dollar made that night – concessions, t-shirt sales, 50/50 raffles and more – goes toward a breast cancer related cause. As was true last year, monies raised will be donated to the Fort HealthCare mammogram voucher program, a service that provides free mammograms for under- and uninsured women.

Fort HealthCare will sell ‘Pink’ shirts and goodie bags in the Human Resources department at Fort Memorial Hospital, and is encouraging employees to wear the shirts on ‘Jeans Day’, October 4. The shirts are priced at $15 each. Goodie bags are priced at $25 each and are made of 600-denier polyester/PVC, have a pull-string main compartment for a drawstring pack and mesh water bottle holders on each side.

Sponsored by the Brantmeier Law, Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home, Jefferson Piggly Wiggly, DBR Designs and Fort HealthCare, the bags include a water bottle, pen, thumb drive, mini flashlight, band aids, and breast cancer awareness literature.

Shirts and bags will also be available to the public at the JHS volleyball home games in September (10, 17 and 24) and, of course, on ‘Pink’ night, October 1, the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Items will also be available online through a link provided by DBR Designs. Visit www.shopdbrdesigns.com to order.

The volleyball team plans to fund raise throughout the month of September, culminating with the PINK game on October 1.
