Kathi Cauley & Mary Beck Metzger, APNP join the Fort HealthCare Board of Directors

Fort HealthCare is pleased to announce that Kathi Cauley and Mary Beck Metzger, APNP have joined the organization’s board of directors, where they will serve a three year term. Board members may be reappointed for two additional terms. They replace Donald Willams, MD and Carol Knox.

Board members are chosen based on their professional skills and their ability to represent the healthcare needs of the various communities within the Fort HealthCare primary service area.

Kathi Cauley is the Director of the Jefferson County Human Services Department. She has worked in several private practice settings and performed numerous forensic evaluations. Her favorite job, other than the one she has, was working in Boston with inner city youth in a state of the art clinical protocol that happened to be in an outdoor setting. She believes in integrated services that all people are able to access in a timely fashion. She has seen the immense benefit of trauma informed systems that offer evidence based practices and choices for all consumers.

Cauley is the Co-Chair of Wisconsin County Human Services Behavioral Health Policy Advisory Committee. Cauley has served on Board of Directors for National Alliance for Mental Illness of Wisconsin and Community Action Coalition. Cauley holds a Masters and Bachelors degree in Psychology from UW-Milwaukee. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Professional Counselor.

Mary Beck Metzger, APNP

Mary Beck Metzger is a skilled and experienced health care provider, having worked in critical care and the emergency department for many years as an RN and in primary care for the past 14 years. She places a high priority on listening, helping establish a relationship of trust and working with her patients to optimize healthy lifestyle choices. Beck Metzger sees educating her patients about medical conditions and treatment options so they can make informed choices as a vital part of primary care. Beck Metzger was recognized by the Wisconsin Nurses Association as Advanced Practice Nurse of the year in 2012.Beck Metzger enjoys the variety in a primary care practice, caring for children through seniors, managing chronic conditions, acute illnesses and injuries. Special interests are promotion of healthy lifestyle, women’s health care and public health policy.

In addition to Cauley and Beck Metzger, other Fort HealthCare board members are community representatives Dean Johnson, Fort Atkinson; Eric Runez, Whitewater; Michael Rumpf, Cambridge; Sharon Schmeling, Jefferson; Gregory Waters, Lake Mills, Mary Behling, Cambridge and physicians Barry Cash, Jonathan McLaughlin, Bill Kontny and Michael Anderson.

Fort HealthCare is an integrated hospital and health system that attracts patients from throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Fort Memorial Hospital is a modern, fully accredited, acute care facility with 82 licensed beds. More than 100 physicians are on staff.
