Mary Behling joins Fort HealthCare Board

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Fort HealthCare is pleased to announce that Mary Behling has joined the organization’s board of directors in January, where she will serve a three year term. Board members may be reappointed for two additional terms. She replaces Robert Schramm, Whitewater.

Board members are chosen based on their professional skills and their ability to represent the healthcare needs of the various communities within the Fort HealthCare primary service area.

Behling is a certified public accountant and a partner at Behling, Jasper and Selberg, LLC., Fort Atkinson. She is a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Past commitments to a variety of community causes include the Fort Atkinson Rotary Club where she was the first woman president, the Fort Atkinson Alumni Association Foundation, United Way of Jefferson County, and most recently the Jefferson County Humane Society and the Fort Memorial Hospital Foundation where she served as treasurer.

She has been an active member of the American Women’s Society of CPAs, serving in the 1990’s as President of the Madison chapter, and as a director at the national level for several years. She is a member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs.

Behling believes that Fort Atkinson is a progressive and service-oriented community. “I’ve enjoyed being active in the community, and getting the opportunity to work side-by-side with various community leaders. This is especially true regarding my participation on the Fort Memorial Hospital Foundation board. I am certain the same will occur as a member of the Fort HealthCare board, too.”

In addition to Behling, other Fort HealthCare board members are community representatives Dean Johnson, Fort Atkinson; Carol Ward Knox, Fort Atkinson; Michael Rumpf, Cambridge; Sharon Schmeling, Jefferson; Gregory Waters, Lake Mills and physicians Donald Williams, Barry Cash, Jonathan McLaughlin, Michael Anderson and Wade Woelfle (chief of staff).
