FORT ATKINSON – This October, the Rotary Club of Fort Atkinson is lighting up the Bike Depot pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This gesture supports the ongoing efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer and emphasizes the importance of early detection—a mission strongly shared by Fort HealthCare.
“As a healthcare organization, our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community is at the forefront of everything we do,” said Michael Anderson, President and CEO of Fort HealthCare. “Through our partnerships, programs, and expert care, we aim to make breast cancer screening accessible to all women in our community, ensuring early detection and better outcomes for those at risk. A huge ‘Thank You’ to the Rotary Club for helping raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer screenings!”
Fort HealthCare marks this important month with several initiatives aimed at raising awareness and providing resources for early detection of breast cancer. On October 19th, Fort HealthCare is hosting a Screening Saturday event, where women in the community can receive walk-in mammograms without an appointment or referral. Additionally, Walk-In Wednesdays occur on the first Wednesday of every month, offering screening mammograms with no appointment required. For individuals facing financial barriers, Fort HealthCare’s Mammogram Voucher Program ensures that uninsured or underinsured individuals can receive free mammograms.
Fort HealthCare is also excited to welcome Dr. Jamie Clementi, a Fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon, specializing in advanced and comprehensive breast care, including breast cancer surgery, minimally invasive options, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Clementi enhances local breast care services, ensuring expert care close to home.
The Rotary Club of Fort Atkinson, a vital part of the community since 1937, has a long history of supporting local projects, from the Rotary Pavilion to the Bike Depot. This October, they join the fight against breast cancer by lighting the Bike Depot pink to remind everyone of the importance of awareness and early detection. With the support of community partners like the Rotary Club, Fort HealthCare remains dedicated to raising awareness and ensuring every community member has access to the care they need.
