Welcome New Physician, Linda Welniak, MD

JEFFERSON – Fort HealthCare and Fort Medical Group are pleased to welcome family medicine physician, Linda Welniak, MD, to the Fort HealthCare Jefferson clinic, which is currently open at an interim location at 152 West Garland Street in Jefferson. She joins nurse practitioner, Noreen Lyons, as they care for patients in the Jefferson area. Medical services at the Garland Street location will continue until remodeling is complete this summer at the Fort HealthCare Jefferson clinic location at 840 West Racine Street.

Welniak earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice. Welniak has taught for more than 10 years at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and continues as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the department of Family and Community Medicine.

She cares for patients of all ages – from infants to older adults – and she is experienced in all facets of family medicine, including health and wellness, diagnosis and treatment of various conditions, immediate care needs, health management, acute problems and chronic conditions. Welniak has many relationships with specialists throughout the region, and helps her patients move through the care process with speed and efficiency.

Welniak states, “The most important thing to me is getting to know my patients. I listen to their concerns, help them work toward health solutions and, whenever necessary, get them the care that they need. As a mother and spouse, I know there’s nothing more important than a happy, healthy family. That’s my goal for every person I’m entrusted to treat.”

When she’s not seeing patients, Welniak is interested in nature, telescopy, astronomy, cooking, gardening and reading. She especially enjoys spending time with family and friends.
