Pharmacist-HoodEach resident’s rotation schedule is customized to meet his or her individual needs and interests as well as provide a broad foundation in general medicine. Residents will spend approximately 9 months at Fort HealthCare and 3 months at UW Health on rotation. Rotations are available in the following practice areas:

Learning Experiences


  • Hospital Pharmacy Practice – General Medicine (8 weeks)
  • Emergency Medicine (4 weeks)
  • Ambulatory Care Clinic (6 to 8 weeks)
  • Senior Leadership Management and Population Health (4 weeks)
  • Pharmacotherapy Lab (3 weeks)


  • Pharmacy Practice Management
  • Drug Information
  • Inpatient Staffing


  • Teaching Certificate Program

Residents are highly encouraged to develop and refine teaching and precepting skills throughout the year.
Teaching opportunities include:

  • UW School of Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program
  • UW School of Pharmacy Pharmacotherapy Lab (required)
  • Precepting of IPPE and APPE students
