Abby Ziegler, FNP-BC, APNP, was inspired to go into nursing by a compassionate and intelligent nurse practitioner she saw as a young person. While still in high school, Abby began her healthcare career as a CNA. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, she worked in many different areas of nursing before transitioning into administration. Abby loved the impact she could make on patient care from the administration side of nursing, but she missed direct patient contact and went back to school to earn her master’s degree in nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus.

“I find great joy in forming trusting, lasting relationships with my patients. It means so much to me that patients trust me and want to partner with me to improve their health and quality of life. I enjoy working with patients of all ages and find fulfillment in following my patients as they grow and their health needs and goals evolve.”

In addition to enjoying her work with patients in family practice, Abby is passionate about cardiology. She began her nursing career in a cardiac ICU setting, caring for patients who had recently undergone heart surgery, and also assisted in heart and trauma surgeries. Those experiences ignited her desire to continue to work with that specialty patient population as well.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Abby enjoys spending time with her children and her husband, whether they are exploring the zoo or another attraction, camping, swimming, or spoiling their rescue dogs! She also likes cooking and crafting with close family and friends, and volunteering at the humane society.
