Carrie is a physical therapist assistant at the Fort Atkinson Therapy & Sport Center. Her passion for helping people attracted her to the healthcare field. “It’s amazing what a little education and hands-on therapy can do for someone’s life. By offering information about posture, body mechanics, and the do’s and don’ts of an injury, we can make a difference for someone who has been living with pain. As soon as that ah-ha moment happens, we’ve done our job and they can get their lives back.”

Carrie has a special interest in working with patients in our aquatic therapy program, especially with osteoporosis patients. “Besides the physical piece of aquatic therapy, the water offers a new avenue for the mental aspect as well. Where some exercises on land can seem intimidating and difficult, patients are much more willing to participate in aquatic exercises because of their calming and soothing nature. After that, it doesn’t take long for more patients to realize the importance of exercise in improving their condition or injury.”

Personal Interests

Carrie loves to enjoy the outdoors with her husband and two children. Any extra time they have is spent playing sports, grilling out, and growing vegetables in their garden. “The best part of family time is having fun and watching my kids grow up. Time goes so fast, so we need to capture the moments while we can!”
