Chad Lothary, PharmD, BCPS is a clinical pharmacist for Fort HealthCare. He received a Doctor of Pharmacy from the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy in Saint Louis, Missouri in 2007. His prior leadership experience includes being a preceptor at a tertiary hospital in central Illinois for several years and a pharmacist in charge at a large drug store in the Saint Louis, Missouri for several years. Chad has had various experiences working in pediatrics, neurology, cardiology, psychiatry and as a hospice pharmacist. Chad is also a Board Certificated Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), having earned that honor in 2014. He maintains memberships in American Society of Health-System Pharmacist and the Illinois Hospital Pharmacy Association.
Chad’s main practice interests include pain management, antimicrobial stewardship, and transition of care. Chad has been a preceptor for many years for APPE students and PGY-1 residents throughout his hospital career and enjoys teaching and learning from his students. In his free time he enjoys running, attending the University of Wisconsin athletic events and spending time and travelling with his family and friends.
The inpatient pharmacy promotes a safe and regulatory compliant medication management system within the hospital building and serves as an expert resource on safe and regulatory compliant medication use to our Fort Medical Group clinics. Pharmacy services are decentralized with a pharmacist who spends several hours each day with the inpatient care areas in a supportive role.
