Medical Practice
Emily Borkowski, PA was inspired by her own Physician Assistant early in her undergraduate career at La-Crosse, who made her feel truly seen and heard as a patient. This individual not only opened Emily’s eyes to the PA profession, but served as a role model for the type of PA she wanted to become for her patients. Although she enjoys the scientific components in medicine, Emily ultimately wanted to practice medicine to connect with patients in meaningful ways and uplift them as they undergo their own health journey.
“One of my favorite things about being a PA in Family Medicine is the ability to cultivate long-term relationships with my patients and coworkers. It is such a rewarding experience to be a trusted source for patients of all ages as they change and grow throughout life.”
In completing her PA degree at Marquette University, Emily committed to practicing primary care in rural and medically underserved areas through the National Health Service Corps. She enjoys this focus because it allows her to uplift and empower communities at an individual level through patient-centered, accessible care.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Emily enjoys baking, reading, hiking, and gardening. She loves cozy nights at home, or heading to the farmer’s market with her fiancé. She’s also helping her parents build their lake home in Northern Wisconsin.
