Professional Description

Heidi has been an educator in the clinical practice for overall health for over 8 years.  Now she teaches overall health and nutrition in the Movin’ and Losin’ classes taught to both adults and families.

Class Description

Movin’ and Losin’ is an 8-10 week family fitness program designed specifically for families with children ages 6-16 years old, who are looking for ways to incorporate healthier habits back into their lifestyle. Topics vary week to week and include both diet and exercise related information. Each class will spend 15 minutes on education and goal setting, followed by a family boot camp class for 45 minutes that is taught for any fitness level. Come join the fun and learn how to become a healthier family together!

Personal Note

“I love working with families and children to stay as healthy as possible.  I love promoting wellness that includes the physical as well as the emotional health. I enjoy the successes with the families when we find ways to get a little healthier. All of our lives are busy, chaotic and stressful. It is really hard as a parent to make sure we are making our kids eat balanced meals every day, getting enough sleep, exercising outside of school and emotionally meeting all their needs as well as all of ours. I continue to teach classes out of clinic so I can help families find the balance with nutrition and exercise that they can sustain long term.

Internal Medicine & Pediatrics

Doctors of internal medicine, also called “internists”, are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases that affect adults. Internists are sometimes referred to as the “doctor’s doctor” because they often act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems. Doctors of internal medicine treat the whole person, not just internal organs.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine dedicated to the medical care of infants, children and adolescents. Treating a child is not like treating a miniature adult. A major difference between pediatrics and adult medicine is that children cannot make decisions for themselves. We support the health and well-being of children and are advocates for children’s health issues.
