“I like to problem-solve and help patients work out their health issues. They are in the best position to tell me what’s wrong… I just confirm what they know about themselves. I try to offer personalized care, and be accessible and available even on short notice when a patient needs to get in to the clinic right away. Our staff is respectful of our patients’ time, and we try to get them answers as quickly as possible. The GI aspect of my practice has been very rewarding, given our high success rate in preventing colon cancer. Preventive medicine in general is my preference.”
“I grew up on a farm in Racine County. I enjoy bicycling, golfing, hunting, skiing, antiques, sailing, fishing, gardening and old cars. Spending time with my family is also a priority.”
Dr. Wishau also has additional certification in the examination, evaluation and treatment of the stomach and colon, including analysis of swallowing difficulty, chronic heartburn, and non-cardiac chest pain. He also provides evaluation of GERD as it may relate to chronic cough and sore throat.
Dr. Wishau offers a variety of treatments and GI consultation services in addition to his internal medicine specialty, including:

Your health is a team effort. We firmly believe in healthcare based on partnership; between Fort HealthCare and the communities we serve, as well as partnership between doctor and patient. That’s why we strive to involve patients and their families in maintaining good health that lasts a lifetime. We’re committed to the health of our communities, and we’re always here to listen, understand and respond to your healthcare concerns. The Lake Mills Family Practice clinic works to help the entire family achieve total health through prevention, education and, if needed, medical intervention. The Lake Mills Family Practice clinic is part of Fort HealthCare's network of clinics.
Our Family Medicine practitioners are motivated by one simple directive: To provide the best care possible.
Part of what enables us to provide consistently high quality healthcare is continuity. Pediatric and adolescent care continues through adulthood with your personal family physician, who knows your medical history and has earned your trust.
We constantly strive to be timely and accessible. To that end, our Family Medicine Clinics are located close to where you live and work, and our physicians have privileges at Fort Memorial Hospital.
