Sarah received a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2007. Her prior leadership experience includes clinical coordinator roles at two healthcare systems, medication safety coordinator and application coordinator overseeing the electronic health record (EHR) in oncology services. She was inspired by the interconnections between pharmacy practice and the EHR and holds certification in both Epic and Cerner operating systems. Sarah also a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, obtaining that honor in 2016.
Sarah has lead the pharmacy and residency program here at Fort HealthCare since 2017. She also supports Fort HealthCare through contributions as the Co-Chair of the Fort HealthCare Medication Safety Committee and the Fort HealthCare Opioid Stewardship Team. Sarah helped guide the Fort HealthCare PGY-1 Residency from initial implementation to accreditation since the program’s inception in 2017. She maintains memberships with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacist, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American College of Health Care Executives, and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Sarah’s practice interests include transitions of care, antimicrobial stewardship, regulatory and safety compliance and investigation, interoperability and meaningful use optimization, pharmacy practice expansion, preceptor development, diversity inclusion and focused leadership, and rural pharmacy/rural healthcare practice advancement. She is actively involved in the pharmacy community and enjoys serving as a preceptor for advanced practice pharmacy students at all schools of pharmacy in Wisconsin (University of Wisconsin, Concordia, and the new Medical College of Wisconsin), and PGY-1 pharmacy practice residents. In her free time, she enjoys working with various community service events and activities and volunteers at her daughter’s school. She also enjoys biking, running, crafting, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
