Sarah received a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2007. Her prior leadership experience includes clinical coordinator roles at two healthcare systems, medication safety coordinator and application coordinator overseeing the electronic health record (EHR) in oncology services. She was inspired by the interconnections between pharmacy practice and the EHR and holds certification in both Epic and Cerner operating systems. Sarah also a Board Certificated Pharmacotherapy Specialist, obtaining that honor in 2016 and she holds that certificate currently. Sarah recently was promoted to clinical pharmacy manager in 2017, and in that role is the Co-Chair on the Fort HealthCare Medication Safety Committee and the Fort HealthCare Antimicrobial Stewardship Team She has been integral in the building and delivery of the PGY1 joint residency program at Fort HealthCare, which partners with UW Health. She maintains memberships in American Society of Health-System Pharmacist, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Sarah’s practice interests include transitions of care, antimicrobial stewardship, regulatory and safety compliance and investigation, review and appropriate preparation of IV products following the standards of USP 797 and moving the organization toward compliance with USP 800. She is actively involved in the pharmacy community and enjoys serving as a preceptor for advanced practice pharmacy students at all schools of pharmacy in Wisconsin (University of Wisconsin, Concordia and the new Medical College of Wisconsin) and PGY1 pharmacy practice residents. In her free time she enjoys working in the community on various community service events and activities at her daughter’s school, biking and running, spending time with her husband and daughter, and crafting.

The inpatient pharmacy promotes a safe and regulatory compliant medication management system within the hospital building and serves as an expert resource on safe and regulatory compliant medication use to our Fort Medical Group clinics. Pharmacy services are decentralized with a pharmacist who spends several hours each day with the inpatient care areas in a supportive role.
