1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup margarine, melted
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup shredded carrots
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup raisins


1) In a bowl, cream together sugar, margarine, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add carrots and mix. In another bowl, thoroughly stir together flour, baking powder, oatmeal and wheat germ. Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, fold in the raisins.

2) Pour mixture into a vegetable-oil prayed 9x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool before cutting into bars.
