As our mission states, we are working every day to improve the health and well-being of our community. We know that this is difficult, so we’ve developed fun, interactive wellness challenges to give our communities the tools they need to make important lifestyle changes. Every challenge offers:
This is an individual physical activity challenge created to encourage participants to log the recommended 10,000 steps every day (or equivalent amount of other activities) or 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity every week. Typically, Rock the Walk is an eight-week challenge with weekly prizes awarded to active participants.
The next Rock the Walk challenge will take place in the fall of 2016.
The Slimdown Challenge has been a community favorite over the past few years and has generated major results! The goal is to healthfully reduce weight and improve overall health over eight weeks. Participants are required to attend official weigh-in and weigh-out sessions to be eligible for prizes; the most important prize being a healthier, more active lifestyle!
The 2016 Slimdown Challenge will begin Tuesday, April 12th! Weigh-ins will begin throughout Jefferson County on Monday, March 28th through Monday, April 11th. A schedule of weigh-ins will be posted
as the dates approach.
The challenge is hosted online. Past participants may visit FortHealthCare.MyCernerWellness.com
to log in to their existing Cerner accounts and new participants will need to fill out the
pre-registration, which will open on Monday, March 7th at FortHealthCare.com/Slimdown.
