About Business Services (pay your bill)

Our Business Services Department is designed to help patients who want to a make a payment or have questions about on their account. As a convenience to patients, we offer two locations to better serve you. Our main office location shown above and the Cashier Office at the Fort Memorial Hospital.

Cashier Office – Located in the main lobby of the hospital at 611 Sherman Avenue East
Hours: Monday – Friday,  7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Payments may be left in a secure drop box outside the Cashier Office

What if I can’t pay my bill?

Fort HealthCare is proud of our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community. We understand that concern over a hospital bill should never get in the way of a patient receiving good health care. While we expect patients to contribute to the cost of their care, we do take into account each individual’s ability to pay. Our goal is to work with you to arrange a manageable payment plan.

It is our commitment that no one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. There is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.

Fort HealthCare offers two financial aid options to patients who meet our income, asset an need criteria. These are:

Self Pay Discount / Community Care / Community Care  (En Espanol)

The Self Pay Discount is a discount of up to 48 percent on your health care charges. Community Care is a partial or complete write-off of all outstanding charges.

Patient Financial Advocate

Our Patient Financial Advocate provides information on local, state and federal programs to assist patients with their financial situations. We feel this program assists our patients and their families in accessing available programs and services. The Patient Financial Advocate is located in the hospital next to the gift shop and will:

  • Meet with patients and/or family members about programs which could assist in payment of their healthcare needs
  • Meet with patients and family members in the inpatient setting to discuss programs before discharge
  • Work with Rock River Free Clinic on helping patients get their paperwork completed for Community Care
  • Work with the county on completing on-line applications for patients on County and State programs
  • Work with all departments and clinics in developing information on programs that are specific to each area
  • Assist self pay patients from the ER to discuss Community Care or emergency programs
  • A Certified Application Counselor can also assist with enrolling in the Health Insurance Marketplace

Our Financial Counselor can be reached at (920) 568-4722 Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Appointments may be arranged as needed during other hours to accommodate busy schedules.

Fort HealthCare Online Bill Payment

Fort HealthCare’s online payment service allows you to securely submit payments for both Fort Medical Group and Fort Memorial Hospital. By using your credit or debit card making a payment can now be more efficient and done 24 hours a day. We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Once you have completed your payment, please be sure to print a copy of the payment transaction for your records. Most payments are posted to accounts within 2 business days of payment. If you have questions on using our on-line payment system, contact Fort HealthCare’s Business Services department at (920) 568-6580 or toll free at (800) 844-5575. Our call in hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m – 4:30 PM.

Health Marketplace Assistance

Get quick answers about Obamacare laws and the Health Insurance MarketplaceAs of 2014, individuals are now able to access the website to enroll in the Exchange and choose a health insurance option.

While the public can complete their applications themselves, Fort HealthCare is ready to assist with the application process. We have a Certified Application Counselor (CAC) on staff to assist you.
