Emergency Department

The Fort HealthCare Emergency Department is prepared to handle any situation. We are staffed by physicians from MEP Health, who are board-certified in emergency medicine, and skilled nursing staff. We are invested in serving our community, as evidenced by our high emergency department patient satisfaction scores. Our updated trauma rooms are spacious and furnished with state-of-the art equipment.

Urgent Care

The Fort HealthCare Urgent Care is here to provide care when you can’t wait for an appointment but don’t need emergency department care. Urgent care is located within the emergency department, which means the same highly trained clinicians will provide your care. During triage (the initial nursing assessment) the nurse determines and informs you whether you meet criteria for urgent care or emergency care. If your condition worsens and you need to be transitioned from urgent care to emergency care, you will be able to stay in the same department.

Our Emergency Department and Urgent Care is staffed by board certified emergency physicians from MEP Health, and a team of skilled professionals. Dr. Stahmer and Dr. Snell lead our Emergency Services at Fort HealthCare. To see a full list of physicians who staff the Fort HealthCare Emergency Department, please click on the logo below.

After an Emergency or Urgent Care visit, you will receive two different bills, one from MEP Health, and one from Fort HealthCare. For billing questions, please contact our Business Services.
